Gestern habe ich mir nach langem Überlegen das Nikon 14-24/2.8 gekauft. Es soll mein bisheriges Sigma 12-24 ersetzen, mit dem ich nie sonderlich zufrieden war. Jetzt gibt es aber die Nikon Cashback Aktion. Daher habe ich mich entschlossen, endlich zuzuschlagen.

Yesterday evening I was finally at the OMV refinery in Schwechat with a colleague. After a few rounds around the site, we finally found a side road with good visibility for after shots.

Last summer I bought a Sony RX100 because of the good reviews. Here's a little test to see how the RX100 compares to the Nikon D800 in terms of dynamic range.

Until now I have hardly dealt with infrared photography. A few years ago, I made a few attempts with the D100, but the results were far from satisfactory. Nevertheless, I am now interested in how the D800 performs.

Maybe some of you already know the napkin technique, but I would like to introduce it to you. I think you can achieve quite beautiful results with it and renew many an old flower pot.

Here I present you my small tinkering project, with which drops on tropical photos are possible. You only need some electronics, an Arduino with software, valves, a Mariottes bottle and a lot of patience.

Just under a week ago I fulfilled my dream and switched to a camera with a full-frame sensor. The Nikon D800 replaces my four-year-old D300. Here is a first short report on my experience.
