Hermann Wustinger Memorial Tournament

On 23 July, the Austrian Schnauzer Pinscher Special Club (ÖSPSC) organised the Hermann Wustinger Memorial Tournament. The club was founded in 1967 and initially offered courses for performance dogs. Since 1991, the offer has been extended to include agility dog sports. Hermann Wustinger was the chairman of the ÖSPSC for many years and holder of the golden badge of honour and golden dog handler badge of the Austrian Dog Sports Union (ÖHU). He passed away on 22 January 2013.

The agility tournament took place in beautiful weather on the grounds of the ÖSPSC. The participants competed in three groups, Small, Medium and Large. The group is based on the height of the dog at the withers and the height of the obstacles is adjusted according to the group. In total, more than 40 participants took part in the tournament. The teams had to master various pieces of equipment such as tunnels, slalom, hurdles, catwalk, seesaw or A-wall without mistakes and of course in the shortest possible time.

Despite their sporting ambition, the atmosphere was very relaxed and you could tell that the dogs were having a lot of fun. Here are some photos of the event:
